Anduril is no longer a narrow defense startup built around border towers and counter-drone demonstrations. It has become a vertically integrated defense technology company competing for control of the software, sensors, autonomous platforms, munitions and factories that sit inside the Pentagon's highest-priority modernization efforts. Its central wager is that one software architecture, Lattice, can connect many systems while ArsenalOS turns rapidly changing designs into repeatable production.
The company now touches air superiority, Army command and control, special operations, space-based missile defense, electronic warfare, undersea autonomy, soldier systems, border surveillance and affordable precision strike. That breadth makes Anduril strategically important, but it does not make the company indispensable across the entire U.S. defense enterprise. The Pentagon still relies overwhelmingly on established primes for nuclear forces, shipbuilding, strategic bombers, major missile programs and large aircraft fleets.
No defensible percentage exists. The Department of Defense does not publish company exposure as a share of total force modernization and Anduril does not publish funded backlog by customer. The largest public Anduril-specific vehicle is the Army's 10-year contract with a maximum potential value of $20 billion. It consolidates more than 120 procurement actions, but future orders still require funding and competition where applicable. Other large figures include shared ceilings, framework agreements, prototype contracts and undisclosed awards. Adding them together would produce a fake backlog number.

The public record proves Anduril can operate inside classified mission environments, but it does not reveal what percentage of company revenue or backlog is classified. Menace-I has been accredited for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities and Special Access Program Facilities. Anduril and Palantir have described data pipelines spanning unclassified networks through Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs. Program values, operational concepts and performance details are partly or wholly undisclosed across Space-Based Interceptors, parts of CCA, special operations, electronic warfare and space control. What They Do
Anduril builds weapons, sensors and autonomous vehicles around a shared software layer. Lattice ingests data from radars, cameras, vehicles, weapons and outside systems, then helps operators understand the situation, assign tasks and coordinate effects. The company sells both the software and many of the physical systems attached to it.
The second layer is manufacturing. ArsenalOS is Anduril's digital production backbone. It connects engineering changes, sourcing, work instructions, factory execution, quality records, maintenance and field sustainment. Its homegrown Forge system handles manufacturing execution, maintenance and quality while commercial tools plug into the same environment. The practical promise is simple: when a design changes, the correct revision reaches the floor quickly, every affected unit remains traceable and technicians do not build from stale instructions.
Layer 1: Lattice. A common data, command and autonomy platform.

Why Thunder Matters
Thunder, unveiled 20-JUL-2026, is the cleanest expression of the model. The Group 5 autonomous attack rotorcraft was co-developed with Archer Aviation and combines vertical takeoff, wingborne cruise, a series hybrid-electric powertrain and collaborative autonomy. Anduril presents it as an uncrewed teammate for attack and assault aircraft that can carry missiles, air-launched effects, electronic-warfare payloads, counter-UAS systems or cargo.
Thunder is strategically interesting because it pushes Anduril into the near-surface attack-aviation fight between crewed helicopters, launched effects and fixed-wing drones. It is also commercially unproven. No customer, contract value, production quantity or fielding schedule was announced at launch. Until one appears, Thunder is a privately funded product bet rather than backlog.
Why ArsenalOS May Matter More
Thunder can win a program. ArsenalOS is supposed to help Anduril win many. The software is intended to shorten the path from revised design to factory output across different product families. That could reduce change-order friction and make low-volume lines easier to scale. It could also become internal marketing software unless Anduril proves stable throughput, repeatable quality, supplier resilience and field sustainment at the promised rates. The first Ohio-built YFQ-44A rolling off the line four months after production began is an early proof point, not proof of mature mass production.

Revenue & Growth Drivers
Anduril's disclosed 2025 revenue of $2.2 billion indicates the company has moved beyond prototype-only economics. The next stage depends on converting a broad portfolio of ceilings, evaluation contracts and framework agreements into funded production with stable margins. Private ownership makes that conversion harder to audit because the company does not disclose segment revenue, customer concentration, cash use or program profitability.
1. Army Software and Enterprise Ordering
The Army's $20 billion enterprise contract is the largest public Anduril-specific ceiling. It consolidates more than 120 procurement actions around commercial information technology, software, hardware and services. It should reduce contracting friction, but it does not guarantee $20 billion of orders. A USAspending delivery order under the Army enterprise vehicle shows approximately $87.7 million in current obligations and $103.0 million in potential value for Lattice licenses, integration, training and support for JIATF-401. That is a real funded order. It is also a reminder that the $20 billion ceiling converts one order at a time.

The Air Force is intentionally separating CCA hardware from autonomy software and using a government-owned reference architecture. Lattice is more defensible than a generic analytics dashboard because it connects sensors, communications, vehicles and weapons in operational environments. Every deployed system can produce data that improves integration work and creates a larger installed base.
2. Private Capital Before Contract Award
Anduril repeatedly funds development, test assets and factory capacity before a full government program exists. That can compress schedules and give customers something real to evaluate. It also moves development risk onto the company and its investors.
3. ArsenalOS as a Build-Chain Advantage

Anduril appears diversified by product, but most of its economic exposure still traces to U.S. and allied governments. The company does not publish customer concentration. Its broad Pentagon footprint can reduce single-program risk while increasing dependence on federal budgets, security approvals and procurement cycles.
The most important near-term concentration is not one customer. It is one operating thesis: that Anduril can move from prototypes into high-rate production faster than legacy primes without losing quality, cash discipline or trust.
